Interview with Marc Webb, McCarroll’s Maserati

Todd Gilmour: Marc, McCarroll’s Maserati has been a key player in the Maserati brand across Australasia. Can you tell us more about your dealership’s performance and achievements?

Marc Webb: McCarroll's Maserati continues to perform as the number one dealership representative for the Maserati brand across Australasia. We've maintained this top position from 2019 through to 2024 (YTD), which is an incredible achievement for the team. Additionally, we’re proud to have Jo Mae Purvis, our assistant sales manager, recognized as the Top Gun sales representative in Southeast Asia.

Todd Gilmour: That’s an impressive streak. How does Australia rank in the global Maserati market?

Marc Webb: Australia is doing exceptionally well—we currently rank number three in the world in terms of market share, right behind Italy and Japan. It’s a strong reflection of the brand’s growing appeal here.

Todd Gilmour: The Grecale seems to be quite popular. Can you give us an update on its performance and any current offers?

Marc Webb: Absolutely! Since May 2023, we've delivered over 700 Grecale units across Australia. For our current offers, MY23 GT and Modena Mild Hybrid demonstrators come with the balance of a 5-year warranty, service, and roadside assistance. Additionally, MY23 Grecale Trofeo demonstrators and new vehicles are being offered with a 3-year service plan.

Todd Gilmour: I saw some stunning models at the Marina last Sunday. Could you tell us more about those vehicles?

Marc Webb: Yes, we had a couple of very special cars on display. One of them was the Ghibli 334, which is one of only five in Australia. It’s the fastest Maserati ever built and the fastest production sedan in the world—a true icon and the last of the V8s. We also showcased the Gran Turismo 75th limited edition, and we currently have two in the dealership. It’s a rare model with only 300 available globally.

Todd Gilmour: That’s incredible. Are there any upcoming Maserati releases we should look out for?

Marc Webb: Yes, definitely. In 2025, we’re expecting the Grecale and Gran Turismo BEV Folgore models to hit the Australian market. We should have them available in the second half of the year. Additionally, Maserati Global recently launched the MC Xtrema, with only 62 vehicles being made, and three have already been sold in Australia. There’s also the MC GT2 Stradale, with an approximate price of $750K in Australia.

Todd Gilmour: It sounds like a lot of exciting things are on the horizon. I noticed you had quite a few specialists present at the event on Sunday. Could you share a bit about that?

Marc Webb: Yes, we had a fantastic team on-site representing Sales, Marketing, After sales, Service, Parts, Paint and Panel, and Restoration. It was great to have such a well-rounded representation of the brand and the level of service we provide at McCarroll's Maserati.
