Special Thanks to McCarroll’s Maserati: A Fantastic Day at the Club Concours

The Club Maserati Australia Concours was a great success, with 44 cars participating. Another entry was on the way but had to turn back due to a crying baby. McCarroll’s Maserati had their newest models on display, which certainly caught the attention of both Riviera and club members, sparking serious consideration from a few admirers.

At the marina, Riviera Sydney showcased stunning boats, offering private tours to attendees. A special thanks goes to R Marine and Riviera Sydney for their dedication and efforts in making the day memorable.

The winner's trophies, beautifully crafted by Litt 22 Designs, were presented by Francesca, who also won Best Dressed Female on the day—congratulations! Dennis from McCarroll’s Maserati took home the Best Dressed Male award for his sharp ensemble. It was great to meet Dennis, who is the new manager at McCarroll’s Maserati, and we wish him all the best in his role. https://www.lit22designs.com/

The Honor Roll for the day consisted of 7 class winners:

  • Historic Class (pre-1981) – Maserati Ghibli I, Richard Freemantle
  • Classic Class (1981-1999) – Maserati Biturbo, Richard Brown
  • 3200/4200, GranSport, Spyder Class – Maserati GranSport, Joey Clarke
  • Maserati Quattroporte V/VI Class – Maserati Quattroporte V, Steve Haywood
  • Maserati GranTurismo Class – Maserati Stradale, Ashley Bassa
  • Maserati Ghibli III Class – Maserati Ghibli, Vic Giudice (apologies to Vic for the mix-up during the presentations)
  • Maserati Wow Factor Class – Maserati Trofeo, Andrea Vittori

We were fortunate to have Sam Movizio, the highest accredited judge in Australia, select the Best of Show. The title went to Richard Freemantle and his stunning yellow 1970 Maserati Ghibli I, making him a two-time Club Champion. Runners-up, Joey Clarke and Ashley Bassa, received a duffle bag, cap, and Maserati candle courtesy of McCarroll’s Maserati.

A top job by the judges—Andrew Dunn, Bruce Lott, Don Crutchley, and Sam Movizio—ensured a fair and smooth competition. A huge thank you to Mary Tuka Riviera Sydney, Zoe Szmajda McCarroll’s Maserati, and the Club Committee for their teamwork in creating an event we can all be proud of.

Best regards,
Todd Gilmour
